Our History

J.D. Fulwiler & Co. Insurance was founded in 1988 with the goal of becoming one of the premier providers of personal and commercial insurance in the Western United States. And while we are licensed in most of the United States we consider ourselves to be a local company with a special understanding of the needs of our customers in the Northwest. Our corporate headquarters in Portland, Oregon and large branch office in downtown Vancouver, Washington give our customers quick access to the services they need no matter which side of the Columbia River they are located.

At J.D. Fulwiler we recognize that individuals and organizations each have personal and corporate insurance requirements that are unique to their specific situation and trying to force a customer into a pre-molded insurance solution does not demonstrate true customer care. And customer care is the core of our business. It is reflected in many facets, including the structure of our organization. Many years ago we came to understand that by becoming a more agile organization we were able to more efficiently and effectively offer customized solutions and services to our clients.

Our dedication to customer care is also reflected by our broad expertise and access to highly specialized markets. We are able to provide for most any commercial or personal insurance need, no matter how unique it may seem. We currently represent over 40 major insurance carriers, enabling us to offer a full range of coverage and service to cover virtually every personal or business insurance need.

We also have our own in-house claims management specialist to work with you and your carrier to ensure your claim is handled well. Additionally all of our major carriers provide 24/7 toll-free emergency claims service because we all know emergencies don?t happen just during business hours.
